Lifecycle Cost Modelling for BREEAM Man 02
BREEAM aims to deliver whole life value by encouraging the use of life cycle costing to improve design, specification, through-life maintenance and operation, and through the dissemination of capital cost reporting promote economic sustainability.
This is evidenced in three parts:
Elemental life cycle cost
Component level life cycle cost
Capital cost reporting
Lifecycle Cost Modelling of Comparative Design Scenarios
When a project team is asked “should we partially refurbish and add a new wing, totally refurbish only, or demolish and rebuild a completely new building?” – a comparative lifecycle cost model may assist by informing the business case and design process.
Results are generally presented as real and discounted total costs, measured over relevant periods of time.
